Green River Hospice

Green River Hospice is a service to provide support and care for persons in the last phase of an incurable illness so that they live as fully and comfortably as possible. It is hoped that through Hospice's efforts, patients and families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death.

Green River Hospice provides for terminally ill patients of all ages virtually all the services of a health care facility--but in the privacy, comfort and familiarity of the patients' homes, where they can make the decisions about their own care.

The patient's personal physician directs the medical care administered in the home by Hospice nurses. The team engages family members in the care and support of the patient.

Following the patient's death, specially trained bereavement counselors help the family handle their grief through continuing visits and contacts.

The Hospice home care team includes:

  • the patient's physician
  • a registered nurse
  • a social worker
  • a home care aide
  • a chaplain
  • a trained volunteer

Our Central City office building is conveniently located at 109 S. Second Street, adjacent to Sonic Restaurant.

Green River Hospice serves Hopkins, McLean, & Muhlenberg Counties.
