Nephrology Services

The Trover Health System Nephrology Department provides specialized care for patients with all stages of kidney disease as well as specialized consultation for patients with hypertension (high blood pressure).

The nephrology department prides itself in providing early detection and care for patients with earlier kidney disease. When the diseases are detected earlier, Trover Nephrologists use state of the art therapies to slow down the progression of kidney diseases and prolong the time between diagnosis and the need for dialysis.

In addition, the department prepares patients with advanced kidney disease for dialysis in advance of the need, which substantially reduces complications, the need to be in the hospital, and has proven to dramatically improve the outcome for these patients.

The department also specializes in identifying the cause and preventing recurrences of kidney stones.

Renal Dialysis Center

24-hour coverage for emergencies

For patients who have reached end stage renal disease, the Trover Health System Renal Dialysis Center provides lifesaving outpatient hemodialysis (artificial kidney treatment). The Dialysis Center includes a full time nurse educator and a full time registered dietician and has received many awards for quality of care over the years.

The Dialysis Center provides state of the art care using the latest dialysis machines. A pleasant and comfortable waiting area, televisions and Internet access are provided for the convenience and comfort of our patients. We also work with multiple facilities to provide access to renal transplantation for appropriate patients.

Registered nurses are available 24-hours a day for emergencies and the Dialysis Center also offers a full-time staff dietitian who works with patients to develop individualized nutrition plans and a masters prepared social worker.
