Trover Health System

Quality Indicators

Quality is our top priority. At Trover Health System we strive to provide excellent care, every time. We are proudly accredited by the Joint Commission, the nation's oldest and largest standard-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. In 2008, we received the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. The accreditation award recognizes Trover's dedication to complying with the Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards on a continuous basis.

As part of our commitment to quality, Trover has established a Quality and Safety Committee made up of physicians and members of the Board of Directors. This committee assists Trover in achieving our quality goals.

Each quarter, Trover shares our Quality Report. This report compares our performance with the average level of performance of other hospitals in Kentucky and across the nation. These healthcare indicators are being tracked nationally by hospitals in association with a quality program coordinated by the Centers for Medicare / Medicaid Services.

Our doctors, nurses, and the entire team of clinical professionals are working together to meet the healthcare needs of our community. In the following information, you will see how we provide healthcare in a high quality, consistent manner for patients experiencing surgery, a heart attack, heart failure, or pneumonia.

Condition Description
Heart Attack (AMI) Care Heart Attack (AMI) Care A heart attack (also called an AMI or acute myocardial infarction) happens when the arteries leading to the heart become blocked and the blood supply is slowed or stopped. These quality measures show some of the standards of care provided, if appropriate, to someone who has a heart attack.
Heart Failure Care Heart failure is a weakening of the heart’s pumping power. With heart failure your body doesn’t get enough oxygen and nutrients to meet its needs. These quality measures show some of the standards of care provided, if appropriate, to someone who has heart failure.
Pneumonia Care Pneumonia is caused by a viral or bacterial infection or inflammation that fills your lungs with fluid. This lowers the oxygen level in your blood. These quality measures show some of the standards of care provided, if appropriate, to someone who has pneumonia.
SCIP Hospitals can reduce the risk of surgical infection by following proven surgical care standards.
